Advanced Nuclear Momentum Builds Ahead of President Trump’s July 4 Deadline

ARLINGTON, Va. — Ahead of President Trump’s July 4 deadline to implement executive actions to accelerate nuclear energy deployment, United States Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC) President and CEO Todd Abrajano released the following statement following the successful criticality of three advanced reactors:

“As the nation approaches President Trump’s July 4 milestone for accelerating advanced nuclear deployment, the successful criticality of three advanced reactors demonstrates that America is entering a new era of nuclear energy,” Abrajano said. “Recent milestones, including Antares and other advanced reactor projects reaching criticality, reflect the dedication of industry, national laboratories, and government working together to move innovative technologies from concept to reality. This is only the beginning. With continued progress on regulatory modernization, domestic fuel production, and supply chain development, we expect to see many more advanced reactor milestones as these technologies move closer to commercial deployment, strengthening America’s energy security and reinforcing U.S. leadership in nuclear technology.”
