ARLINGTON, Va. — The United States Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC) today congratulated five USNIC member companies selected by the U.S. Army for the Janus Program, which will advance the deployment of nuclear microreactors at military installations across the country. The selections represent an important milestone for advanced nuclear deployment, military energy resilience and the continued growth of America’s domestic nuclear industrial base.
The five USNIC members selected are Antares Nuclear; BWXT Technologies; General Atomics Electromagnetic Systems; Radiant; and Westinghouse.
“Today’s announcement reflects the tremendous momentum building across the U.S. advanced nuclear industry and the important role these technologies can play in strengthening our national security,” USNIC President and CEO Todd Abrajano said. “We congratulate all five of our member companies selected for the Janus Program and look forward to seeing these projects move toward deployment.”
The Janus Program will support microreactor projects at Fort Bragg, Fort Campbell, Fort Hood, Fort Benning and Fort Drum, with up to $2.2 billion in government funding and additional private-sector investment.
