ARLINGTON, Va. — U.S. Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC) president and CEO, Todd Abrajano, released the following statement applauding renewed U.S.–Japan cooperation on advanced nuclear energy and critical minerals, following discussions between President Trump and Japanese leaders:

“I am encouraged by renewed U.S.–Japan cooperation on advanced nuclear energy and critical minerals. These discussions come at a pivotal time, as securing reliable access to rare earths and developing and deploying next-generation nuclear technologies will be fundamental to America’s energy independence and strategic competitiveness," Abrajano said. "During my visit to Tokyo last month, I met with Japanese government officials and nuclear industry executives to discuss these very priorities—strengthening our shared commitment to innovation, supply chain security, and a strong global nuclear partnership.”
