ARLINGTON, Va. — Today, Todd Abrajano, President and CEO of the United States Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC), submitted a letter for the record to the House Energy and Commerce Subcommittee on Energy in connection with its hearing “American Energy Dominance: Dawn of the New Nuclear Era.”
The letter emphasizes nuclear energy’s importance to U.S. energy security, economic competitiveness, and global technology leadership, and outlines key policy priorities to accelerate nuclear deployment.
"Nuclear energy is essential to America’s energy security and economic competitiveness. As electricity demand rises and global competitors accelerate their own nuclear programs, restoring U.S. leadership in nuclear energy is essential to ensuring reliable, affordable, and resilient power for decades ahead," Abrajano wrote. "Recent executive actions provide a strong foundation, and with continued leadership from Congress and the Trump administration, the United States can accelerate deployment, rebuild its nuclear industrial base, and reaffirm its global leadership in nuclear technology."
