The U.S. Nuclear Industry Council (USNIC) thanks Commissioner Annie Caputo for her years of service following today's announcement that she will resign from the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) upon the swearing-in of Commissioner David Wright.
Commissioner Caputo has been a principled voice on the Commission, bringing decades of policy expertise and a deep understanding of the nuclear sector. Her contributions have played an important role in shaping the NRC’s approach to both legacy and advanced technologies.
USNIC President & CEO Todd Abrajano issued the following statement:
“On behalf of the U.S. Nuclear Industry Council, I thank Commissioner Annie Caputo for her years of service to the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) and the U.S. civil nuclear industry writ large. As a nuclear engineer and a former policy advisor on the Senate Committee on Environment and Public Works and the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, Commission Caputo brought a wealth of knowledge to the NRC which she utilized to safely and efficiently regulate nuclear technology in the United States. Commissioner Caputo will be missed, and I wish her all the best into the future.”
USNIC will continue to engage closely with the NRC as new leadership transitions take place, ensuring that the voice of the nuclear industry remains at the forefront of regulatory discussions.
Sincerely,
The U.S. Nuclear Industry Council
